MECHANICSVILLE, Virginia — With Team USATF roster spots on the line for the World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Bathurst, Australia next month, the competition was fierce at the USATF Cross Country Championships, as U.S. Army standouts Ednah Kurgat and Emmanuel Bor won the open women’s and open men’s titles, Irene Riggs and Leo Young picked up U20 wins, and April Lund and Ben Bruce locked in Masters titles.

INDIANAPOLIS — Robert "Bob" Hersh, a National Track & Field Hall of Fame inductee who played an integral role in formation of The Athletics Congress, the changeover to USA Track & Field, and the professionalization of track and field, died today in Long Island, New York, at NorthShore University Hospital. He was 82.

Major marathon winners Albert Korir and Shura Kitata, as well as 2015 world champion Ghirmay, are among the many additions to the men’s elite field for the Boston Marathon on 17 April, organisers of the World Athletics Elite Platinum Label road race announced today (11).
