Toledo, Ohio – March 6, 2026 – The Owens Corning Half Marathon provides the opportunity for a personal record time in the half or a race to fine tune their speed on the streets of Toledo leading up to their spring marathon. For some of the elite athletes this will be their half marathon race day debut.

It could well be the women who produce the headlines at the Vienna City Marathon on 19th April. Ethiopians Haftamnesh Tesfaye and Tigist Gezahagn lead the women’s elite start list and they are keen to produce some fast racing. Organisers hope that the 2:20:59 course record will be broken and the 2:20:00 mark as well in the process. The Ethiopians will be challenged by Kenya’s defending champion Betty Chepkemoi.

A strong Ethiopian trio will head the women’s elite field of the 40th Haspa Marathon Hamburg on 26th April. Tigist Ketema, Degitu Azimeraw and Sichala Kumeshi are on the start list of Germany’s biggest spring marathon race. A total of 20,000 marathon runners have entered the jubilee edition of the Haspa Marathon Hamburg. Adding races at shorter distances staged parallel to the classic distance organisers registered a record total of 46,000 athletes.
