OHSAA Track & Field Championship

The 114th Boys and 47th Girls Ohio High School Athletic Association Track & Field Championship will be held June 4th and 5th at the following three locations: Division I at Hilliard Darby High School; Division II at Pickerington North High School; Division III at Westerville North High School.

I plan to go to the Division II Championship as the Watterson boy’s cross-country team (which I coached) ran the OHSAA State Cross Country Championship again this year and my brothers and I ran at Division II Circleville High School. I have two friends taking pictures of the 800, 1600 and 3200 meters races for RUNOHIO at the Division I and Division III Championships.

Good luck to all athletes and coaches.

Check back on www.runohio.com for coverage after the Championships.

Keeping Track

By Rod O’Donnell - Ken Norton’s first novel, When Legends Run Free, is a must-read for anyone who has participated in, coached, or has been associated in some way, with the sport of cross-country. The author, who was a Division II All-American at Southwest Missouri and was coached by the legendary Chuck Hunsaker, captures the true essence of the sport and the dedicated athletes who participate in it.

Positive Psychology of Running

By Richard Ferguson, Ph.D. - Positive Psychology is currently one of the hottest areas of study by psychologists. Why are some people positive thinkers and other more negative in their outlooks? None of us were born being positive or negative thinkers. We have all learned to think in a positive or negative manner through varied life and socialization experiences.
