Tim Pancher and I were co race directors of the Arnold 5K Pump & Run and Arnold 5K for twenty years.  Andy Harris and his crew from the Columbus Running Company will be putting on this year’s events. There are still a few open spots.

I am cutting back after over 40 plus years of directing events.  Tom Wagonseller and I plan to do one more Granville Summer Cross County race, with the hope someone else steps forward to keep the event going.  I am also hopeful someone will come forward to co-direct the Circleville Classic 5 Miler this October.

As another year ends and a New Year begins, one can always look back on numerous positive happenings as well as sad ones we experienced. I am sure we all know people who had a challenging 2022 either with a health or work situation. If you know someone having a rough time, maybe you can do something to make their life better.  Also, when you are making your New Year’ Resolutions, I hope you will consider volunteering at a local road race. If possible, help to sponsor a local race or help a new runner understand proper training and help your neighbor who might need some assistance. If we all do a few kind acts to help others who are nearby, I am sure 2023 will be a Great Year!  Also, remember to shop locally to help all the businesses in your home town.

Hopefully, you will be able to keep up your training during the Winter and will be ready for a great running and racing 2023.

The next print issue of RUNOHIO will be our Spring issue.  The deadline for information to be included in this issue is February 25th.

I wish you a Happy, Healthy and Safe 2023!

Matt McGowan
