The River City Runners Club (RCR) in Parkersburg, West Virginia was founded in 1981 and with 450 members has grown to be the largest running club in West Virginia and the surrounding area. The RCR is a RRCA and a USATF affiliated club.

Hightower elected USATF President

Women's Track & Field Committee Chair Stephanie Hightower was elected to a four-year term as USA Track & Field's president December 5th at the 2008 USATF Annual Meeting at the Silver Legacy Resort in Reno, Nevada.

("EIA") filed a petition that asks the U.S. Supreme Court to hear EIA's case for a preliminary injunction to reinstate the ten intercollegiate athletic teams that James Madison University ("JMU") demoted to club status effective July 1, 2007.
