After our first frost the fall weather will soon be giving way to the winter.  But before the winter months arrive there is still a lot of fall racing to be contested including the Ohio High School Athletic Association State Cross Country Championships and college and universities Regional and National  Cross Country Championships.  Below are these events dates and locations.  Hopefully, you will be able to attend a few of these events and cheer on the young men and women who have worked hard to earn the opportunity to compete.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association State Cross Country Championships will be held November 1 at Scioto Downs in Columbus.
Time schedule
11:05 A.M.   Division III Boys
11:50 A.M.   Division II Boys
12:35 P.M.   Division I Boys 
 1:20 P.M.    Division III Girls  
 2:05 P.M.    Division II Girls  
 2:50 P.M.    Division I Girls  

NCAA Cross Country Regionals on November 15:  Division I - Great Lakes Region at Purdue University.  Division II  - Midwest Region at Ferris State University, Division III Great Lakes Region at Otterbein College.

NCAA National Cross Country Championships on November 22:  Division II  at Slippery Rock University, Division III at  Hanover College and on November 24 –
 Division I at Indiana State University.  NAIA National Cross Country Championships on November  22 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  Also, Cedarville College will be hosting the National Christian College Athletic Association Championships on November 15.

Plus, there are numerous opportunities for you to lace up your racing shoes to test your fitness.   There are dozens of Thanksgiving Day races within a short driving distance, including Cincinnati’s 99th annual Thanksgiving Day Run.  Plus, the Arthritis Foundation are sponsoring a number of Jingle Bell Runs for you enjoyment.   Check out all of the races listed on the RUNOHIO Race Calendar -http://www.runohio.com/national_calendar

            Registration for the ninth annual Arnold 5K Pump and Run will start November 1st with a limit of 750 athletes. Last year the limit of 700 athletes was reached in fourteen days. There will also be a traditional 5km, a run only – Arnold 5K. Both events will be held Sunday March 8th during the 21st annual Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus.  For more info - http://www.runohio.com
