Glass City Marathon
The 33rd Annual Glass City Marathon (GCM) located in Toledo, OH hosted by the Toledo Road Runner Club (TRRC). The TRRC is very excited about this year’s event. New events have been added to highlight the TRRC marquee weekend.
The TRRC has planned an event for the entire family to participate in and enjoy together be it running or walking. The events consist of a marathon run/walk (early start for walk), 5-person relay (each leg approximately 5 miles), 5K run/walk, kids marathon (1/4 mile ages 2-3, 1/2 and 1 mile ages 4-12) and a half-marathon run/walk (early start for walk).
The GCM has traditionally honored Sy Mah, one of Toledo's greatest running enthusiasts and who once held the Guinness World record of completing 524 marathons in his lifetime by contributing to the Sy Mah scholarship fund at the University of Toledo.
This year a contribution to the Honor Flight of NW Ohio will go to fly America’s veterans to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials that have been dedicated to honor the sacrifices these veteran’s have made for our country. The Honor Flight of NW Ohio is affiliated with the Honor Flight Network™ which was formed in 2005.
The GCM is known for its economical entry fee and flat course, which runs from downtown Toledo, south along the Maumee river through the towns of Rossford and Perrysburg before returning north through the town of Maumee.
