Arthur Lydiard who had been on a U.S. speaking engagement passed away on December 11th. Last month Lydiard was in South Point, Ohio for a clinic.

Many considered Lydiard the greatest and most influential distance coach in history.

Master athletics coach Arthur Lydiard, who produced two Olympic champions and inspired generations of New Zealanders to run, has died aged 87. Lydiard died of a suspected heart attack yesterday in a Texas hotel while on a lecture tour of the United States.
