Good luck to everyone who is recovering from the weather
over the past few months. I know some have had a hard time and
I wish you the best as you deal with the issues caused by the
hurricanes.
October always is a great month for running. After the hot
and humid summer, October brings cool weather. Hopefully, you
can take a long run this month and enjoy the fall foliage. Many
runners will be testing themselves in a fall marathon. My high
school cross-country team and I will be assisting with the 10-
mile relay exchange zone at the 26th Annual Columbus Marathon
on October 16 th.
The following week I will be helping my brother, Jeff, and
my mom with the Circleville Classic 5 Miler the Saturday of the
Circleville Pumpkin Show. A registration form for the
Circleville Classic is available at: http://www.runohio.com or
you can register online at:

If you are looking for an great college cross country meet
to watch check out the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Cross Country
Championships at the Methodist Theological School in Delaware
on October 7th. The women start at 2:00 p.m. and the men's race
is at 2:45 p.m. If you would like to run in the open races the
women's race is at 3:30 p.m. and the men's open race is at
4:15. Ohio Wesleyan University will also be the host to the
NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on November 19th.
During the summer a few friends of mine who are on the
Granville Bryn Du Commission talked me into helping them lay
out a cross-country course on the Bryn Du property. I helped to
create a 3km, 5km, 6km, and 8km cross-country course on the
property. Denison University modified the course I laid out a
little and held their first home meet in Granville in seven
years last month. Denison will also be hosting the North Coast
Athletic Conference Cross-Country Championships on October 29th
at the new cross-country course. It is a good course and with a
little work can be a great course for the college as well as
high school cross-country meets. I can see this course being a
great course for a high school invitational, district, or
regional cross-country championships.
Check out the ESPN2 original movie Four Minutes on
Thursday, October 6th at 7:00 p.m. For more information on the
