Keira D’Amato (2:19:12) breaks the U.S. marathon record in the 50th annual Houston Marathon. She broke the long-standing 2:19:36 American record set by Deena Kastor in 2006 at the London Marathon.

D’Amato, 37 years old from Richmond, Virginia and mother a two lead from almost the beginning and hit the half marathon in 1:09:40 on her way to the record.

Also at Houston, Sara Hall (1:07:15) sets a new mark as the fastest U.S. half marathoner. She broke Molly Huddle American Half Marathon record of 1:07:25 set in Houston in 2018.  Hall, 38 years old from Flagstaff, Arizona took the lead around the 20K mark and ran the final mile just under five minutes for the record.
