Kenyans Emerge Victorious at Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in Virginia Beach
August 31, 2008 from press release (Virginia Beach, VA) Kenyans James Kwambai and Edith Masai were crowned champions today at the 8th Annual Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in Virginia Beach. Kwambai, who also won the race in 2006, finished in 1:02:11, 22 seconds ahead of Ethiopian Tadesse Tola, who clocked in at 1:02:33.

It was clear early that he would need a faster time, which he was delighted to supply, winning by a half minute ahead of Matt Fortin, 24, of Annapolis, MD in 55:29.
