Numerous high school and college cross-country runners are
starting to get ready for their Championships next month. If
you never watched a cross-country meet, take a few minutes to
enjoy one in your area this fall. Mark your calendar for the
Ohio High School Athletic Association Cross Country on
November 3rd at Scioto Downs. There are three girls and
three boys races with the Girls Division III starting at 11am
and the boys Division I being the final race of the day at
2:50pm. Perhaps you can lace up your shoes and get involved
in cross-country and run the open race at the All-Ohio
Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships on Friday October
5th. Ohio Wesleyan University will host the All Ohio in
Delaware and if you don't want to run yourself, be sure to be
there by 2pm to watch over forty Ohio colleges and
universities race. Also, Ohio will host the USATF National
Club Cross Country Championships on December 8th at the Voice
of America Park in West Chester. Top clubs from across the
United States will vie for honors and bragging rights as the
nation's top cross country team. More than 40 clubs and 1,000
competitors are expected to compete. There will be fives
races; a community 6km, men master 10km, women master 10km,
men open 10km and a women open 6km. I hope to be at the three
above cross-country championships. For more information - http://www.usatf.org/events/2007/USATFClubXCChampionships
